Why is Calcium a major ingredient in the My Goodness™ Deodorant?

Calcium is an important component of a healthy diet and a vital mineral necessary for life.  The National Osteoporosis Foundation says, “Calcium plays an important role in building stronger, denser bones early in life and keeping bones strong and healthy later in life.”  Approximately 99 percent of the body’s calcium is stored in the bones and teeth.  The rest of the calcium in the body has other important uses, such as some exocytosis, especially neurotransmitter release, and muscle contraction.  So Calcium is needed to contract every muscle in the body, and Magnesium is needed to release every muscle in the body, hence both minerals need to be available in the body to ensure proper functioning of all muscle including of course the heart muscle.  Calcium is regulating the heart muscles and nervous system, increases circulation and is necessary in strengthening cell membranes and cleansing the pores.

In our typical modern diet we eat much more Calcium than Magnesium, meaning we are creating an imbalance in the ratio of Magnesium to Calcium in our body (The ratio should be much more Magnesium than Calcium in our diet).  This is why we formulate the My Goodness Deodorant with Magnesium as the major ingredient, and Calcium ingredient as well but less than the Magnesium, by using the My Goodness Deodorant which works as nutritional deodorant that works all day, the My Goodness Deodorant  helps to balance the ratio between Magnesium and Calcium thus promoting health.

Calcium occurs naturally in nature together with Magnesium; this is why we include these two key life supporting minerals in the My Goodness Deodorant which is actually a nutritional deodorant which promotes health while giving you odor protection for more than 24 hours.  When we formulated the My Goodness™ Deodorant we first thought about your health in the short and the long run, and picked only the healthiest ingredients mother Nature has given us, and from these best ingredients, we formulated the healthiest deodorant we know of which works more hours than any natural deodorant in the market, while promotes health like no other deodorant.

In the electrical conduction system of the heart, calcium replaces sodium as the mineral that depolarizes the cell, proliferating the action potential.  In the cardiac muscle, sodium influx commences an action potential, but during potassium efflux, the cardiac myocyte experiences calcium influx, prolonging the action potential and creating a plateau phase of dynamic equilibrium.  Long-term calcium deficiency can lead to rickets and poor blood clotting and in case of a menopausal woman, it can lead to osteoporosis, in which the bone deteriorates and there is an increased risk of fractures.  Adding Magnesium to the diet can reverse the trend of losing Calcium, and accumulating it back only where it’s needed in the body.  (See our article about Magnesium in the My Goodness Deodorant) While a lifelong deficit can affect bone and tooth formation, over-retention can cause hypocalcaemia (elevated levels of calcium in the blood), impaired kidney function and decreased absorption of other minerals.  Several sources suggest a correlation between high calcium intake (2000 mg per day, or twice the U.S. recommended daily allowance, equivalent to six or more glasses of milk per day) and prostate cancer.  High calcium intakes or high calcium absorption were previously thought to contribute to the development of kidney stones.  However, a high calcium intake has been associated with a lower risk for kidney stones in more recent research. Magnesium and Vitamin D are needed to absorb calcium.
